It’s hard to think of a superhero movie more awaited than Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is coming on May 1, 2015. The Avengers launched the whole trend of superhero teams, and we at TG think the next installment of these superhero all stars could be the peak of the whole comic genre.
So now comes a rumor that could be inspired by Hunger Games, which is splitting the last installment into two movies. There’s obviously plans for an Avengers 3, and now Uproxx reports it may be cut into two movies as well.
If the rumors that have spread on that peerless source of accurate information, the internet, are true, it would spread the battle with Thanos over two movies. Alleged release dates? May 2018 and May 2019, which would fill in Marvel’s “untitled” movies in their schedule.
One catch could be Robert Downey Jr.’s deal, which is for three movies, and reportedly he and Chris Evans want to move on from The Avengers after the third movie. If the movie’s split in half, they would also have to pay everyone for another whole movie, which is what happened when Kill Bill was split into two parts.
But first things first. Avengers: Age of Ultron should rule next summer, and we don’t have too much longer to wait from here.
