The idea of racing motorcycles is certainly something that sounds exciting to many, as it certainly is also fun to watch them zipping around a track.
For those into electric motorcycles, TTXGP is said to be the place to show off these types of green rides with an aim towards driving “low carbon technological innovation forward” and demonstrating “that clean-emission transport technologies have matured and can be fun, fast and exciting.”
Whether you buy that last statement or not is up in the air, but for those who do, TTXGP’s 2011 racing schedule was recently announced.
The self described eGrandPrix bills itself as an “international race series providing a high profile platform for the development of electric vehicles” that will be roaming race tracks around the world starting in May, including U.S. stops at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California; Portland International Raceway in Portland, Oregon; and Virginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia.
TTXGP said it will also be heading down to Australia for the first time in collaboration with eFXC/Australian Superbikes.
New teams from countries like Canada, Malaysia and Singapore will be joining the line up, all of whom will likely be gunning for Muench Racing from Germany.
This team is said to hold the World Championship 2010 laurels.
We will particularly be looking forward to the Portland race, which is in our backyard.
TTXGP said it plans to race alongside the Oregon Motorcycle Road Racing Association when in town.
