Snapchat drops collective jaws of world by offering an apology

We asked the question, Is Snapchat run by arrogant jerks? The answer was, yes. But, now, the sweet little douches are making amends by publicly – drumroll, hold breath – apologizing. We’d like to think it was because of our tirade. But, it probably has to do with trying to be good to your millions of users.

It helps to be nice to your millions of users, the only reason you even exist or have any value whatsoever.

You’d think that they could have said this earlier:

This morning we released a Snapchat update for Android and iOS that improves Find Friends functionality and allows Snapchatters to opt-out of linking their phone number with their username. This option is available in Settings > Mobile #.

This update also requires new Snapchatters to verify their phone number before using the Find Friends service.

Our team continues to make improvements to the Snapchat service to prevent future attempts to abuse our API. We are sorry for any problems this issue may have caused you and we really appreciate your patience and support.

Team Snapchat

Now, was that so hard, Snapchat? It could have been a storm in a teacup and a big win for you.

We can’t wish ill on anyone but if this company every sells close to, or above, $3 billion, ever, it will be because we are all about to die in the Apocalypse. That will be the only explanation.
