There’s a lot riding on Daredevil. It’s a superhero that’s been begging to be rebooted, and it can only be screwed up so many times before it could wind up completely dormant, like Howard the Duck.
So now the first review for Daredevil are in, and the verdict seems pretty positive so far. Cinema Blend wrote that with the show, “Marvel goes dark and wins in a big way,”and Esquire wrote that with Daredevil, “the Marvel cinematic universe goes R-rated.” (Esquire also calls the series “a must-watch.”)
Variety also notes, “Marvel has shrewdly expanded its portfolio, and Netflix has uppsed its must-have quotient with a fiercely loyal segment of consumers. Viewed that way, Daredevil looks dressed for success.”
Daredevil will debut on April 10 on Netflix, which is next Friday, and it sounds like it’s getting the new Marvel series, which will also include Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage, off to a great start.
