Samsung doesn’t offer its Galaxy Note tablet-phone on Verizon, so the carrier has turned to LG.
The manufacturer will be releasing its new LG Intuition exclusively on Verizon on Thursday of this week, September 6.
The phone, which is known as the Optimus Vu in other regions of the world, sports a whopping 5-inch display and an atypical 4:3 aspect ratio, meaning it is not widescreen.
It comes with a stylus just like the Galaxy Note. It is very much a direct competitor of that device.
For technical specs, the Intuition will come with a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera and 1.3-megapixel front camera, and support for 4G LTE. It also comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Whether or not you think it’s cool, one thing that Samsung’s Galaxy Note phone has sparked is that “how big is too big” discussion when it comes to smartphones.
The original Galaxy Note has a whopping 5.3-inch display, a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 16 GB of built-in memory, and a 1280×800 resolution.
In other words, its specs are on par with some of the entry-level tablets on the market. When it comes to display sizes, smartphones generally measure in at 4 to 4.5 inches, while tablets start at around 7 inches.
So the Galaxy Note and the Intuition falls in between the two categories but definitely still side more with the phone group. Nevertheless, they are highly interesting phones.
