Although Marvel’s film studios specifically decided not to incorporate 3D into Iron Man 2, they will step into the big cinema craze with future productions.
Marvel was approached about turning Iron Man 2 into a 3D film, but decided against it because of the limited time frame.
In a story on ScreenCrave.com, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige was quoted as saying, “We couldn’t have turned over a version of the movie 10 or 20 weeks earlier for 3-D conversion without undermining the quality.”
That statement would surely please most movie buffs, especially those who felt shunned by Clash of the Titans’ mediocre, slapped-together 3D conversion for the movie that had already been completely filmed in 2D.
However, Feige added, “The team has been doing a lot of research into 3-D processes, and we’re looking at it on future films when we have the time.”
The studio has not announced any 3D films in production, but it is currently working on silver screen adaptations of Thor and Captain America.
