The Terminator prequel, which is titled Terminator Genesis, is coming together pretty quickly for a July 1, 2015 release date. Lately there’s been a lot of speculation as to who will play the two most important roles, John and Sarah Connor, and at least one of those roles has finally been filled…
It seemed like a no brainer decision, but as Variety tells us, Sarah Connor will be played by Emilia Clarke, who we all know from Game of Thrones. Also up for the role were Brie Larson (21 Jump Street), and Margot Robbie (About Time), but Clarke is director Alan Taylor’s choice. Jason Clarke from Zero Dark Thirty is also currently “in negotiations” to play John Connor.
There have been net rumors that this Terminator could be a prequel that takes place back in the fifties. While plot details are currently under wraps, Variety tells us that Genesis is “the first film in a stand alone trilogy.”
