2K Games has confirmed that Spec Ops: The Line is currently in development at YAGER for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Windows PC platforms.
The game has been described as a provocative third-person modern military shooter that places players in “unspeakable” situations where unimaginable choices affecting human life must be made.
“Players will experience ‘The Line,’ that razor’s edge known only to
men who deal in war,” 2K explained in a statement.
??”It is the line
they cross when death and duty become one and the same. It is the end –
of self and sanity – when their duty is done and only they remain.”
Indeed, Spec Ops: The Line is set in a post-apocalyptic Duabi which has fallen victim to a series of cataclysmic sandstorms.
Although most of the city’s wealthy inhabitants fled the barren wasteland before the storms, US Army Colonel John Konrad and his squad remained behind to protect the few who could not escape.
Unsurprisingly, Konrad and his team are assumed dead until the Army picks picked up a weak distress signal and launches a rescue operation.
The dangerous op is spearheaded by Captain Martin Walker and his elite Delta Force team who are tasked with infiltrating the treacherous region to bring Konrad home. ?
Spec Ops: The Line is expected to be deployed in late 2010. ??
