When the Star Wars toys came out, how many of you played with a glow in the dark lightsaber? Come on, don’t lie, we all did, but unlike the Star Wars kid, we didn’t get caught on video doing it.
There’s a new lightsaber we’ve all seen in the trailer for The Force Awakens, and of course there’s sure to be geek controversy over it, but now Hasbro has a new toy coming this fall, Star Wars Bladebuilders, where you can customize your lightsaber.
As USA Today tells us, “Bladebuilders debuts a line of compatible hilts, connectors and various lightsaber materials that let children use the simple gadgets of their favorite Jedi master s or come up with the craziest, most complicated combination ever.”
What could be especially fun about this is what kind of wild inventiveness people can bring to building lightsabers. We loved playing with lightsabers when we were kids, and it’s great to see today’s generation of youngsters are going to have a lot of fun with them as well.
