Well that was quick. As you probably know by now, there’s going to be a number of DC spin-off movies down the road that will be branching off of Batman Vs Superman. James Wan, helmer of Fast and Furious, may be directing the Aqua Man movie, but now Wonder Woman apparently needs a director.
It was announced that Michelle MacLaren, a regular TV director, was going to helm, and it was great news to learn that Wonder Woman was indeed getting a woman’s touch. But now Deadline tells that, “creative differences,” cough, cough, are responsible for MacLaren leaving the project.
MacLaren has directed episodes of Better Call Saul, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, and Breaking Bad, all great sh*t, so it’s unfortunate to see she’s leaving the project. There is still a Wonder Woman in place, Gal Gadot, and she’s in Batman Vs Superman as well.
As Deadline reports, “Don’t expect [the director’s chair] to remain unoccupied for long,” and let’s just hope they can find the right replacement.
