The DUO is a two-person electric trike that looks like a car, and it will be available for around $24,995 in March of this year, according to Autoblog Green.
The DUO (“Doesn’t Use Oil”) is Myers Motors’ follow up to the NMG (“No More Gas”), a one-person version of this trike.
Like the NMG, the DUO puts the double wheels up front, but improves on the original’s slightly cartoon-y design with a slick tear-drop shape, reminiscent of both the Prius and the Insight.
The DUO is technically considered an electric motorcycle, so it can ride in the carpool lane carrying only one person and park in designated motorcycle parking.
Those who purchase the vehicle before December 31 of this year may qualify for tax credit for 10% of the purchase price, up to $2500.
Pre-production vehicles will be delivered this April; more information is available on the Myers Motors blog, The Electric Car That Could.
