Downsizing the solar bag to fit evolving needs, Eclipse Solar Gear is out with a padded, tablet-sized case equipped with a flexible thin-film solar panel that the company says will provide up to 4 watts of power to recharge your mobile devices.
According to the Texas-based company, the Solar Tablet Case is packaged with a portable power pack, along with a lithium-ion battery.
The Power Pack boasts a mini-USB input and USB output and can also be charged from a desktop or laptop computer, a 12V-USB auto adapter, or from any of Eclipse’s extensive line of solar bags.
While the Solar Tablet Case available now for $129.95 on the company’s website is ideal for 7-inch tablets – as well as the Nook and Kindle – the company said it is also planning a 10-inch version.
That one would provide up to 8 watts of power and be just right for the current 9.7-inch iPad and its various competitors.
