iPhone wannabe Palm has released an update for its WebOS smartphone platform.
WebOS 1.2 will add new features, such as cut ‘n’ paste, direct dial from the calendar, better Exchange support and the ability to synchronise information from a LinkedIn profile to the Pre smartphone
Users will also be able to download music from Wi-Fi or wide area network connections through Amazon, but sadly will not be able to synchronise their Pre handset with Apple’s iTunes due to – cough – ‘unforeseen technical difficulties’.
Things are looking up for Palm – at least in the UK – where erstwhile iPhone monopolist O2 is celebrating losing its exclusive deal on the Apple smartphone to Vodafone and Orange by signing an exclusive deal to flog the Pre back in the old country.
