HP is currently testing an all-in-one desktop equipped with a 21.5 inch, 1080p IPS display (10-point multitouch) that boasts particularly wide viewing angles.
Interestingly, the Slate 21 runs Google’s wildly popular mobile operating system (Jelly Bean, 4.2.2) instead of Microsoft’s touch-centric Windows 8.
The device is powered by Nvidia’s Tegra 4 ARM Cortex-A15 quad-core processor and features
stereo speakers, a front-facing webcam along with support for wireless printing.
As Liliputing’s Brad Linder notes, the Slate 21 can be controlled by touch (like a tablet) or used with a keyboard and mouse just like a traditional desktop PC.
“With a growing number of ‘mobile apps for editing documents, surfing the web, creating and editing media, and much more, the distinction between a mobile OS like Android and a ‘desktop’ OS like Windows isn’t as great as it once was,” Linder explained.
Unfortunately, HP has yet to release additional information about the Slate 21, such as a price tag, how much it weighs and when the AIO will be hitting the streets. TG Daily will keep you posted.
