Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 SoC is probably one of the most impressive high-end ARM-based processors.
However, Qualcomm says it is planning to introduce a new iteration of the flagship SoC that promises an impressive 40 percent graphics boost, along with support for 4K Ultra HD video playback and optimized CPU architecture.
According to Liliputing’s Brad Linder, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 is slated to be the first chip based on Qualcomm’s Krait 450 architecture with Adreno 420 graphics.
Clock speeds for the quad-core chip will hit up to 2.5 GHz, with memory bandwidth capable of supporting up to 25.6 GB per second.
Additional key specs include support for 802.11ac WiFi, 4G LTE mobile broadband and advanced image (camera) processing technology.
The Snapdragon 805 will likely power a wide range of phones and tablets during the first half of 2014.
