Amazon has rolled out its Cloud Player app for Apple’s wildly popular iPad and iPad Mini.
Essentially, the app allows customers to play or download music stored in the Cloud to their iPad, play music that is already stored on a device, and manage or create playlists.
“We introduced our Cloud Player app for iPhone and iPod touch last summer and it’s been incredibly popular with our customers so we’ve now expanded it to iPad,” said Amazon exec Steve Boom.
“Our goal is to make Cloud Player the most widely compatible cloud playback solution available, giving our customers the ability to buy their music once and enjoy it everywhere.”
Indeed, users running the app can stream their music directly from the cloud or download and play it offline. With the new app, iPad users have full access to their Cloud Player music libraries in a rich graphical interface and also can add playlists that are currently on their tablet.
As TG Daily previously reported, all Amazon purchases and up to 250 imported songs are stored in Cloud Player for free, while customers with large music collections can import up to 250,000 songs for $24.99 per year.
In related Amazon news, users should be warned that the company’s latest update to its iOS Kindle app is reportedly deleting book libraries. As such, Amazon has asked users to avoid the update until it releases a fix.
“Note: There is a known issue with this update. If you are an existing Kindle for iOS user, we recommend you do not install this update at this time,” Amazon warned in its “What’s new” section of the Kindle app.
