Specs for the slick new RAZR smartphone have leaked just days ahead of Motorola’s September 5th Verizon event.
According to documents obtained by the folks at Engadget, the latest RAZR device will be powered by a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 paired with 1GB of RAM.
Additional specs include NFC capabilities, 8MP rear camera, a 3MP front-facing shooter, 8GB of internal storage, an SD card slot and full GSM / UMTS / HSPA+ global roaming.
Interestingly, the screen is said to be a 4.3-inch qHD (960×540 not HD) Super AMOLED Advanced display which is quite similar to those on current RAZR phones – prompting Ryan Whitwam of Android Police to speculate that the M will likely be positioned as a mid-range device.
The RAZR M 4G LTE reportedly weighs in at just 4.44 ounces. The device boasts Gorilla Glass 2 – protecting the display from nasty scratches – while the back is equipped with the same type of Kevlar found on the Droid RAZR and RAZR Maxx.
Unfortunately, the RAZR M 4G LTE will run Android 4.0, rather than Jelly Bean, although the OS will presumably be upgradeable at some point in the near future.
In the meantime, users will just have to make do with Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS), along with Moto’s new Android skin which features on-screen buttons at the bottom, just like the Atrix HD on AT&T.
