So the news is official, there will be a Ghostbusters 3, and it will have female ghostbusters in it. Definitely an interesting way to reinvent one of the biggest comedies of all time. And one major genre star wants in, bad.
As the Hollywood Reporter tells us, Gillian Anderson, who we all know and love from The X-Files, would love to be a Ghosbuster. “Paul Feig, cast me now!,” she says. “OH MY GOD, I just looked it up online. Start a Twitter petition! I’m free!!!!! I’m free I’m free and I’m funny, goddamnit! MAKE IT HAPPEN!!”
Anderson also said maybe there will or won’t be another X-Files movie. “Kinda sorta,” she said. “Keep your ears to the ground.” That shouldn’t be a problem because she and David Duchovny still look good after all these years, and aren’t too old to still potentially pull it off.
There’s speculation all over the net about who would make an ideal member of the cast, and it will indeed make a great ensemble if the right people come together. Anderson would be cool as part of that ensemble, no?
