For Ted Leo fans, this week was a lovely sigh of relief. Last week, Leo made several comments in an interview with Louisville’s Velocity that seemed to suggest that the indie rocker would be retiring from the music business – but this is not the case.
Leo responded to all of the media buzz with a post on his website, explaining that he isn’t going to stop making music just yet, and he has “plenty of better songs to come.” Everything is right in the world once more. Band of Horses and The Glitch Mob both announced huge world tours this week that will span to several countries. Band of Horses will be touring in support of their new LP, Infinite Arms, and the Glitch Mob in support of their debut Drink the Sea. Also, Against Me! announced a Lollapalooza show and even more touring – on top of a new album and just finishing an European tour. New music this week includes Liz Phair’s first album release in 5 years. You can download the 11-track album, FunStyle, for a small price and listen to the first single for free. Janelle Monae, up and coming hip-hop diva, released a video for her song “Tightrope (Wondamix)”, and the Smashing Pumpkins released yet another new song, “Freak.” Now, I’m going to blast some Ted Leo & The Pharmacists in celebration of crushed rumors and the love of music.
