Chicago (IL) – Freakin’ sweet! Glu Mobile has confirmed the worldwide launch of Family Guy: Uncensored for mobile phones. The new Java/Brew game, based on Fox’s popular animated series, was released ahead of the show’s 8th season.
“We are thrilled to bring Family Guy’s memorable moments and non-stop humor to fans worldwide,” explained Jill Braff, senior vice president of global publishing, Glu. “The Glu team has worked meticulously to create a game that not only entertains but also accurately represents Family Guy’s trademark humor, from sadistic baby Stewie and his eccentric father Peter to Quahog’s unique locale, always staying true to the style of the show.”
A video game based on the series was first released in 2006 by 2K Games for the Xbox, PSP and Playstation 2. The title was split into 22 levels and offered players the ability to assume the role of three characters: Brian, Peter and Stewie.
A Glu Mobile spokesperson told TG Daily that Family Guy: Uncensored captures the humour of the TV show.
“It’s as funny as it is unpredictable – finally, the anticipated game ‘Family Guy’ fans have been waiting for. Spend some time with the Griffins in this outrageous story-based mission. Take on the mysterious Giant Chicken, fulfill Quagmire’s Jungle Fantasy and blast into a space-age adventure as ROBO-Stewie with each action-packed mode.”
Indeed, Family Guy: Uncensored offers players the ability to explore multiple levels and 7 mini-games. Other notable features include:
- Five playable characters – Stewie, Peter, Brian, Chris and Quagmire.
- Cameo appearances – Joe, Cleveland, Bertram, the Evil Monkey and additional personalities.
- Familiar locations – including Spooner Street, Goldman’s Pharmacy, The Drunken Clam and City Hall.
Family Guy was created by Seth MacFarlane. The animated series depicts the dysfunctional blue-collar Griffin family: Peter Griffin, his wife Lois and their children – Meg and Chris – along with the eloquent dog Brian and British infant Stewie.
