Coachella announces 2011 Lineup [Unplugging]

After countless rumored artists, high anticipation, and painful waiting, the Coachella 2011 music festival lineup has been revealed. This year’s lineup includes such artists as Arcade Fire, the Chemical Brothers, Kanye West, Animal Collective and the reunion of Death From Above 1979.

Other music festival news includes SXSW adding even more awesome acts like Own Pallett, Surfer Blood, Chromeo, and more.

Sad news: Legendary rock promoter and producer Don Kirshner, famous for bringing acts like Bruce Springsteen, The Ramones, Pink Floyd and Kiss to the masses, passed away Monday in Boca Raton, FL due to heart failure at the age of 76.In addition to running a massively influential label, Kirshner also produced and hosted the ABC-run “Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert.”  His program brought acts like Lynard Skynard, the Rolling Stones and David Bowie to television from 1973-1981.

Upcoming music includes both The Strokes and Bjork who have revealed details of their album releases. Bjork mentioned in an interview with an Icelandic newspaper that she is nearly finished recording her highly anticipated upcoming album and that she hopes to tour by fall of 2011. The Strokes have revealed the date of their album release and also the title of the album, Angles.

Finally, Trent Reznor is celebrating his Golden Globe win for Best Score for a Motion Picture for his work on “The Social Network.” While accepting the award Sunday night, Reznor said, “A year ago I had no idea I’d have the opportunity to score a film. The idea of standing up here to accept this award is surreal.”

The Strokes Title Their Fourth Album: The Strokes have announced the release date for their new album along with the title. The group has decided to call the LP Angles, as it is a reflection of “what the record sounds like. It comes from five different people.” according to guitarist Albert Hammond, Jr.
