Jobs – an indie film portraying the early years of the Apple co-founder – recently began filming in Silicon Valley.
Photographs surfacing this week show the actors on set at Steve Jobs’ former Los Altos home, where the first Apple computer was constructed in the garage – ultimately laying the groundwork for one of the most profitable and successful corporations in the technology industry.
The photo depicts Ashton Kutcher, who plays Steve Jobs in the film, along with actor Josh Gad as Steve Wozniak. Also spied on the set was Ahna O’Reilly, who is taking on the role of Jobs’ ex-girlfriend Chris-Ann Brennan.
Interestingly enough, one of the photographs snapped on the set of the independent film revealed a (hitherto) unknown actor who bears an uncanny resemblance to none other than Bill Gates. We also know that Matthew Modine will be playing former Apple CEO John Scully.
Of course, Jobs isn’t the only movie around about the late Apple co-founder. Sony is working on a big-budget production about the life of Jobs with the screenplay being penned by none other than Aaron Sorkin.
Unfortunately, Sony hasn’t set a release date for the film, although we do know it will be based on the authorized (and best-selling) Walter Isaacson biography that hit the stands shortly after the untimely death of Steve Jobs.
Jobs – the independent film – is set to launch later this year, with reports indicating the project may actually be a made-for-TV movie, rather than a theatrical release.
