Inside Out is a Pixar movie that’s been in the works for some time now, and with Pixar flicks declining in quality, there was speculation as to whether it would be any good, or if it was another troubled production. Now first reviews are in, the verdict so far?
Well, if the reviews are correct, it could be Pixar’s best movie in years. (And thankfully it’s not a tired sequel to one of their previously successful movies.) Premiering at the Cannes Film Festival, The Wrap calls it “one of Pixar’s richest, best films.” The Guardian calls it “a buoyant and sweet-natured comedy,” and The Independent calls it “Pixar’s most ambitious, imaginative and adult film to date.”
There’s many more similar reviews for Inside Out, and thank God Pixar has a new movie that can apparently stand toe to toe with their past classics. Past a certain point, we were wondering if the company was really slipping and was falling into the Lucas trap of being more interested in the toys than the quality of the work. Thankfully Inside Out may finally get the company back on track after some pretty lackluster misses.
Inside Out hits theaters June 19.
