Andy Serkis is Indeed in Avengers Age of Ultron

He’s practically an actor in his own league, and while we’re sure there will be great motion capture actors to come, Andy Serkis will always be looked upon as the actor who revolutionized motion capture as a legitimate acting technique that transcended mere technology.

It’s been speculated for a while that Serkis would appear in Avengers Age of Ultron, as well as Star Wars The Force Awakens. While we know that Serkis narrated the Force Awakens trailer, it’s also now been confirmed that he’s another bad guy in Ultron, namely Ulysses Klaw.

Serkis confirmed this to Uproxx and Empire, and as Uproxx tells those who aren’t Avengers inclined, Klaw is “a ex-Nazi physicist who has various sonic-wave based powers.” He’s gone up against the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, and his primary nemesis is the Black Panther, which means he could appear again in the Black Panther movie.

What’s especially remarkable about this news is this won’t be a motion capture performance, which should be a real departure for Serkis. We’re really looking forward to seeing if Avengers Age of Ultron will be even the first one, and now it should be great fun to watch Serkis try and give James Spader a run for the money as a rival villain.
