Count this as another reason to never play a PC game again.
It’s yet another blow to the hardcore gamers out there who still prefer to play console-optimized games on the PC. Publisher 2K Games has confirmed, and apologized, that Bioshock 2’s two packs of DLC will never be going to the PC. In a post on 2K’s forums, senior manager of interactive marketing Elizabeth Tobey confirmed the bad news. “We will … not be offering Protector Trials and Minerva’s Den on the PC in the future – and I want to say that I’m sorry for the disappointment this will cause to PC players out there,” she wrote.
The Protector Trials DLC adds a new single-player rhythm game and more in-game maps. Minverva’s Den also gives players some more single-player gameplay.
Tobey made another forum post in August that said there was no news on when the PC DLC would be available. Now we know – never.
Tobey clarified that “timing and technical issues” led to the decision, and probably also that the PC version didn’t sell nearly as well as it did on the home console side. Responses to Tobey’s latest post were not exactly met with hugs and roses. “I appreciate you’re only the messenger Liz, but the message is still the same, PC users do not matter ….. well done, bravo, round of applause, have some cake,” wrote one user. “I feel like a Schmuck for vesting so much emotion, time and money into this,” said another.
Is it any wonder PC gaming is dying?
