Oracle CEO Larry Ellison says he is “speechless” over the fact that Hewlett Packard (HP) selected former SAP chief Leo Apotheker to replace Mark Hurd.
“HP had several good internal candidates,” the outspoken Ellison wrote in a raging e-mail to the Wall Street Journal.
“But instead, they pick a guy who was recently fired because he did such a bad job of running SAP.”
Ellison also opined that “HP employees, customers, partners and shareholders” would all suffer under Apotheker’s questionable leadership.
“[But] none of the HP board members own much HP stock so they have little to lose.
“[So], the HP board needs to resign en masse…right away. The madness must stop.”
Unsurprisingly, an official HP spokesperson told the WSJ that Ellison’s tirade didn’t even “deserve the dignity of a response.”
