So many people got so sick and tired of disco, and indeed there was a point where you just couldn’t escape it no matter where you went, especially when Saturday Night Fever was the hottest thing since sliced bread. But disco was fun, happy music that’s still great to listen to, at least for me, and producer Giorgio Moroder (Donna Summer) was one of the giants of the era.
Now Elektrodaily tells us that Moroder, along with Skrillex, will be composing the music for an upcoming Tron video game. As you may know, Morodoer, a genius of electronic music, was a mentor to Daft Punk, who also wrote the score for the second Tron film.
Moroder said of his collaboration with Skrillex, “We have about five themes, electronic stuff and let’s see if he’s interested in remixing or re-working one of the songs.”
Moroder also said he has an offer to compose the music for an upcoming movie, and you may recall he composed the music for Midnight Express, as well as Scarface. Not only is it great that Moroder’s back making new music, but it’s also fascinating to think what he could do for a video game.
