There’s been recent speculation that several other superheroes will be appearing in Batman Vs Superman, which will hit theaters on July 17, 2015. Rumors were going around that Warner Brothers has been auditioning actresses to play Wonder Woman, and there was also speculation that Nightwing could be part of the story as well.
Now Collider tells us that the movie could be based on the Kingdom Come graphic novel, which was created by Alex Ross and Mark Wald. As Collider tells us, the Kingdom Come comic involves numerous superheroes, and Batman’s weapon are “Bat-Drones.”
A producer on the film, Daniel Alter, has also tweeted, “Can’t wait for #BatmanvsSuperman..#batfleck semi-retired/not speaking to Robin anymore..Controlling drones from the batcave.”
There has also been speculation that Adam Driver, who stars on Girls and is in the new Coen Brothers movie Inside Llewyn Davis, could be playing Nightwing, but as he told Movieweb, “No. Not that I know of, no. If you find out, let me know…That’s intensely flattering as you can imagine. I mean, it’s Batman and Superman, who doesn’t want to be involved in something not only of that scale but of who those characters are. Who wouldn’t want to do that?”
Recently, Christian Bale was asked about Affleck taking over the Batman business, and he told Collider, “I wish him all the best. He’s a very experienced actor and filmmaker and he’ll make it his own. Our thing’s finished, we’ve always declared it was finished and it should be passed on to another actor, and it will be again after him.”
The only advice Bale gave Affleck is make sure he can get out of the costume and take a leak on his own. “It’s a little bit humiliating, at least what I went through, when you have to have someone help you out of the costume. That was my main piece of advice for him.”
