We’ve covered a number of Android-powered TV boxes in recent months on TG Daily.
Although there are a few exceptions, the vast majority feature the same form factor, albeit with varying specs.
However, the recently launched MK Z1 is shaped just like a cylinder and boasts both an Ethernet jack and front-facing camera.
Additional specs include a Rockchip RK3188 ARM Cortex-A9 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 8GB of built-in storage, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI port, microSD card slot, micro USB port, two full-sized USB ports, headset jack and Android Jelly Bean (4.2).
“Promotional images suggest that the unusual shape might have something to do with helping improve airflow — or maybe the arrow drawings just show where the vents are,” explained Liliputing’s Brad Linder.
“Either way, the shape is the most unusual thing about this Android TV Box, although the camera and Ethernet jack are features you won’t find on every device of this type.”
The MK Z1 is currently available for approximately $98 on AliExpress.
