The China-based MUCH has debuted a handheld Android game console dubbed “Magic Media i5.”
The device – powered by a MTK6589 quad-core chip – boasts a 5-inch, 1280 x 720 pixel IPS display. Game control buttons and direction pads are built into the case sides, while a number of emulators and a mapping control app are pre-loaded on the portable console.
As Liliputing’s Brad Linder aptly notes, the device looks something like a cross between a Sony PSP and Archos GamePad.
Key hardware specs include MediaTek’s 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A7 processor paired with PowerVR SGX544MP graphics, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of storage and 2x microUSB ports. There is also a microSD card slot for extra storage space, as well as front/rear cameras and a 3550mAh battery.
As expected, the Magic Media i5 runs the latest version of Android – 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). And as a bonus, it is both 2G and 3G capable with dual-SIM card slots.
Pricing? Around $200.
