The Arduino crew unveiled its Robot this past weekend at Maker Faire 2013 in San Mateo, California.
The first official Arduino on wheels is equipped with two processors, one on each board. The Motor Board controls the motors, while the Control Board reads the sensors. Both Arduino microcontroller boards are powered by Atmel’s ATmega32u4.
In other Arduino news, Arduino’s Massimo Banzi also debuted the Yún this past weekend.
The new board – designed in collaboration with Dog Hunter – is based on Atmel’s ATmega32u4 microcontroller along with the Atheros AR9331, an SoC running Linino, a customized version of OpenWRT.
The Yún is expected to make it easier for makers to connect to complex web services directly from Arduino.
