Odds are the tech world will be deluged with new Android tablets and smartphones when Mobile World Congress kicks off this February.
A number of details have surfaced today, indicating that industry heavyweight Samsung will be rolling out at least three new tablets at the show. The tablets were tipped when user agent profiles for three new devices were identified visiting the Samsung Mobile website.
True, most of the user agent profiles didn’t offer much in the way of details, at least in terms of model numbers and screen resolutions. However, one of the profiles seemed to indicate at least one of the devices boasts a resolution of 2560 x 1600 – impressive specs for a tablet screen.
As you may recall, it was not all that long ago such a high resolution was reserved exclusively for high-end 30-inch computer monitors. The two other user agent profiles showed devices with 1280 x 800 resolution and 1024 x 600 resolution.
Frankly, I’m not at all surprised that Samsung might be offering up its own 2560 x 1600 resolution tablet, as the Korean firm also manufactuers the Nexus 10 for Google which also boasts an impressive resolution.
Additional specs are scarce, although we do know it runs Android 4.2 and is equipped with part number GT-P8200 and what appears to be a 1.7 GHz processor. As the folks at Liliputing point out, the Nexus 10 also uses a Samsung Exynos 5250 ARM Cortex-A15 dual core processor operating at 1.7 GHz.
So yes, the evidence is stacking up, indicating that Samsung may be poised to offer its own branded version of the Nexus 10.
