Computer displays ranging from 27 to 30 inches are obviously nothing new, while screens in the 30-inch range have been common for many years now and are particularly popular with gamers.
Interestingly, LG recently unveiled a new display measuring 29-inches wide – which it is billing as the world’s first 21:9 aspect ratio ultrawidescreen display.
The screen, dubebd the EA93, is slated to launch this month in Korea. Despite the relatively strange aspect ratio, the computer display has a fairly typical resolution of 2560 x 1080. The extra screen width will come in handy when viewing high-definition movies, while also allowing the user to stream up to four separate video sources on the screen – simultaneously.
The screen also boasts plenty of connectivity options, including DVI-D, DisplayPort, and two HDMI ports with one supporting for MHL. The Ea93 is expected to sell for 690,000 won in Korea, which works out to about $633. The monitor is slated to go on sale around the world later this year, but the US price is unknown at this time.
Additional specs include a pair of integrated 7 W stereo speakers, with the display supporting 100% of the sRGB color gamut. Brightness is rated 300 nits, while the display uses an IPS panel and features an integrated USB 3.0 hub. The display also has audio inputs, a headphone output, tilt adjustability and can be wall-mounted.
