On LOTR, LEGO games and Middle Earth

LEGO has taken the wraps off an upcoming Lord of the Rings (LOTR) video game that crosses the Tolkien-inspired movie trilogy with the toy series.

Slated to go live in fall 2012, LEGO: The Lord of the Rings will be available on a number of video game platforms, including the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii, Nintendo DS/3Ds and Playstation Vita.

According to LEGO, the game is based on Peter Jackson’s popular adaptation of the classic trilogy – following the original story lines of Fellowship, Two Towers and Return of the King.

Indeed, LEGO: Lord of the Rings takes players along on the adventures of Frodo Baggins and his fellowship of nine as they set out on a perilous journey to destroy The One Ring and save Middle-Earth on the way to Mount Doom.
