Verizon readies Blackberry Tour

The 3G Blackberry Tour will be available in Verizon stores from the 12th of July, the company said.

The Tour is a 3G “world phone”, with ability to access email and the internet in 175 countries. Verizon is taking advanced orders on www.verizonwireless.com/tour for $199.99 after a $70 mail in rebate, and in conjunction with a new two year customer agreement.

The phone supports quad band GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks; single band 2100MHz, UMTS/HSPA nets and dual band 800/1900 CDMA/EV-O Revision A networks.

It weighs 4.58oz, comes with 256MB internal flash memory, and is 4.4″x 2.4″x.6″ thin. It’s fitted with a micro-USB port, sports talk time of five hours and standby time  of 14 days, has an HVGA+ 2.4″ color TFT LCD screen with res of 480×360 pixels.

It also supports Bluetooth, has an integrated speaker and microphone, a media player which supports MPEG4, and audio formats MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA and can record videos using a 3.2 megapixel camera. A 2GB microSD card is pre-installed on all models except those sold to the corporate market.
