You can chat. About the terrible weather outside, or where you’re both from, or what a lovely nipple ring your partner is wearing. Really, on Chatroulette, it seems that anything goes. But mostly, like everything else that people love on the Internet, it’s a portal for porn.
The site’s Russian creators seem to have created the ultimate in extreme social networking experiences, providing relative anonymity and boredom relief with the click of a “next” button which beams you straight into another weirdo’s existence. And you into theirs.
Yes, you may see things which will want to make you rip your eyeballs out of your head. You may wish you had never clicked “play,” you may rue the day you chose to twist instead of stick with your current g-stringed freak on a leash.
But such is gambling. You win some, you lose lots.
“I use it because it’s sexy,” one anonymous Chatroulette user told TG as we clicked “next” for the umpteenth time.

Of course child advocates and parents are already voicing their concerns in a high pitched melodramatic kind of way, blaming the Internet for all of modern parenting’s troubles. Pedophiles, they gasp, could contact their kids. Sick, twisted strangers could expose their genitals.
True, true… but that doesn’t explain why you would ever leave a child alone and unsupervised with a webcam enabled computer.
Of course, selfsame concerned parents could also take note and block the site and hope their little darlings aren’t clever enough to bypass the online nanny software.
At the end of the day, Chatroulette is simply another, if more random and momentarily more thrilling way to experience amateur porn.
