Chip firm AMD said it has committed to OpenGL 3.1X support for its ATI FirePro 3D graphics accelerators.
Earlier this year it released its Open GL3.0 drivers and it will provide support for Open GL 3.1 on August 12th.
The next version of OpenGL – OpenGL 3.2, was nnounced this week at the Siggraph conference, and ATI Catalyst software will expand its support for this and other future versions of OpenGL.
Janet Matsuda, senior director of AMD’s professional graphics division said that extensions like tessellation let devlopers improve the visual quality of 3D object and let them create highly realistic characters, objects and scenery.
