Forget the clunky Nook! Yes, Pandigitial has introduced a sleek, 7-inch multimedia eReader priced at a cool $200.
The tricked out, Android-powered device boasts an ARM 11 mobile processor, full color TFT LCD touch-screen display, Wi-Fi connectivity, full web browser and integrated access to the Barnes & Noble eBookstore.
“The Pandigital eReader lets [users read] books and periodicals displayed in personalized bookshelves with full-color covers and original photos,” explained Pandigital CEO Dean Finnegan.
“[In addition], the 800 x 600 resolution and edge-to-edge glass screen [allows users to] thoroughly enjoy their digital photos in a virtual album and watch videos. The responsive touch-screen – paired with an intuitive UI – is also easy to navigate and control.”
According to Finnegan, the eReader offers users the ability to search for word definitions using a built-in dictionary, review past references with word searches and jot down notes with a virtual keyboard.
In addition, readers can highlight important text, create multiple bookmarks and change the font size for optimum viewing.
