Panasonic has just added DivX’s new top-of-the-line “Plus” certification. The 3D player is the first in the world to do so.
The brand new certification from DivX requires devices to playback H.264 videos that are encoded in a .mkv file container. This is the newest high-definition video format, also known as DivX Plus HD.
Panasonic’s DMP-BDT300, which was released earlier this year, is also the company’s first 3D Blu-ray player.
DivX is universally known for its high standards in video creation and playback technology. Everything from video editing software to DVD players undergo rigorous tests to receive the DivX seal of approval.
“Our new DMP-BDT300 players are fully loaded with all of the tools that consumers need to enjoy everything 3D and HD. Adding DivX Plus HD Certification maximizes that experience for our customers by guaranteeing high-quality playback of all digital video files, including MKV,” said Panasonic group manager Kazuhiko Nakamura.
The DMP-BDT300 sells for around $400.
