The picture to the right is what the phone’s lock screen will look like. So users will be reminded of their Star Wars fanboy-ism every time they pull the device out of their pocket.
Additionally, the animation that plays when the device is turned on is an exclusive Star Wars-themed video. Droid Life had already leaked this animation:
Motorola has also previously announced that exclusive “live wallpapers” will be available to customize the phone’s main screen. We’re hoping for some sort of C3PO dance that can keep us entertained on the subway.
The Droid 2 didn’t exactly make huge waves when it launched last month, but all it needs is to simply replace the original Droid in its presence and sales numbers to top the Android charts. It is practically just a Droid with a brand new processor. Very little has changed to its user-friendly ergonomic form factor.
With its top-of-the-line specs and all this, the R2-D2 Droid 2 might just become the geekiest phone when it launches on September 30. We really want one.
