Apple has sent out official invites for an October 4th event in Cupertino under the tagline of “Let’s talk iPhone.”
Apple CEO Tim Cook is slated to debut the next-gen handset during the long-awaited event, which kicks off at 10 a.m. Pacific.
A number of reports indicate the new iPhone will launch shortly after its official debut, perhaps as early as October 14th.
Official specs for the next-gen device remain scarce, although there is little shortage of rampant speculation and unconfirmed reports.
Fo example, some believe Apple is likely to unveil a completely designed iPhone 5, an iPhone 4S, or both.
However, as AppleInsider notes, multiple rumors have been consistent about the camera and processor found inside Apple’s next-gen iPhone.
Indeed, the handset is expected to boast an 8-megapixel camera for higher resolution photos, along with the same dual-core A5 processor that currently powers the iPad 2.
