Motorola’s Xoom tablet – which is priced at $600 with a two-year contract – will be available via the Verizon network on February 24. As expected, the tablet can also be purchased without an agreement for $800.
Wireless 3G data service for the Xoom begins at $20 monthly access for 1GB, and is upgradeable (at no additional charge) to 4G LTE service in the second quarter of 2011.
The Xoom runs Android Honeycomb (3.0), is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and boasts a 10.1-inch widescreen HD display.
Additional specs include:
- Front-facing 2-megapixel camera for video chats.
- Rear-facing 5-megapixel camera that captures video in 720p HD.
- Supports Google Mobile services.
- Tabbed browsing.
- Flash-enabled (only in Spring 2011).
