There’s a new player in town when it comes to the iPad 2, and this one plays to a much younger demographic.
Toys R Us has officially cut the ribbon on Apple’s tablet device and is now selling it in hundreds of locations across the country. While not every store is participating in the launch, the retailer does expect it to become available chainwide later in the year.
Toys R Us adds to the list of Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Verizon, AT&T, Radio Shack, and the Apple Store as the latest authorized seller of the gadget.
So yep, this means now parents who never had any interest in the iPad 2 will have to start fielding the ever-popular “Mommy, daddy, can I have this?” question when they roam through the world’s #1 toy retailer.
This is perhaps the most symbolic new store partner for Apple, as it is indicative of just how far-reaching the iPad’s desire reaches. It’s no longer just a tech enthusiast’s dream device. Everyone, including little kids, has an interest.
