Kimdecent has rolled out a new Android TV stick that boasts a full size HDMI port along with a 3.5 mm audio jack. Meaning, if you pair the device with a display that lacks integrated speakers you can simply plug-in headphones or a set of external speakers to for audio out.
Additional specs include a Rockchip RK3066 ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core processor, Mali 400 graphics, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of storage, full-size USB port and a microSD card slot for storage.
As expected, the MK806 PC-on-a-stick runs the latest version of Google’s Android – 4.1 (Jelly Bean).
The only downside to this $67 device? The Rockchip processor limits effectively limits users to Android in terms of an OS, as official Linux ports for the SoC don’t really exist at this point in time.
Then again, Android is probably the better OS to have for a PC-on-a-stick that is going to be used a media center for streaming videos on platforms like Netflix and browsing the web.
