Dell sells factory to Foxconn

Hardware firm Dell said it will transfer its Polish manufacturing operations to Taiwanese giant Foxconn, also known as Hon Hai.

The deal is being portrayed by Dell as giving more value to Dell customers by “simplifying” global operations.

The factory, in Lodz, Poland, will continue to supply desktop, notebook and storage systems for Dell. No mention of financial terms appeared in the statement.

Dell said all current employees in Lodz will continue working in the factory when Foxconn takes over the management, but the deal is subject to European Union regulatory approval.
