Acer has confirmed that its first Intel-powered Ultrabook will debut in North America at a $900 price point.
The Aspire S3-951 measures .51 inches thin, weighs 2.98 pounds and features a 13.3-inch HD widescreen LED-backlit display (16:9 aspect ratio) with 1366 x 768 resolution.
The Ultrabook boasts instant on, connects to the Internet in just 2.5 seconds and offers up to 6 hours of continuous usage (50 days of standby power).
The S3-951 also seem to take the issue of heat dissipation quite seriously, as it is loaded with numerous design elements to help keep the system running cool and efficiently.
For example, all the heat generating components have been placed away from the palm rest and touchpad area, while warm air is funneled away from the user through the back of the Ultrabook.
Meanwhile, venting throughout the keyboard also helps the system stay cool, and its vent-free bottom allows it to be used comfortably on a lap or pillow.
Finally, airflow is optimized to enhance efficiency and lower power consumption to help increase system battery life.
