The IPPLI Mars i8 is a cylindrical Android set-top box powered by Rockchip’s RK3188, a quad-core ARM Cortex A9 clocked @ 1.6 GHz paired with ARM’s Mali-400MP4 GPU.
Additional key specs include 2GB DDR3, 8GB NAND Flash (storage) microSD slot (up to 32GB), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (with external Wi-Fi antenna), Bluetooth, Ethernet, HDMI (up to 1080p), optical audio, 3.5mm jack, camera (2.0MP with microphone), USB – 2 x USB 2.0 port and 1 x Mini USB (OTG).
According to CNX-Software, the Mars i8 Android 4.22 (Jelly Bean) set-top box is packaged with an AC power adapter, USB cable (80cm), an HDMI cable (23cm), user’s manual, an external Wi-Fi antenna and an infrared remote control.
The IPPLI Mars i8 currently available from DealExtreme for $91.30 including shipping, as well as from GeekBuying.
It probably should be noted that the Mars i8 looks similar to the Jesurun Q8 (~$105) and MK Z1 (~$117), although it is somewhat cheaper.
