Hardware vendor Dell will introduce the Dell Mini3i smartphone and has forged a deal with China Mobile to sell the product.
The handset, according to reports, will also support downloads from China Mobile’s online store and will sell games, videos, music and other material to download to the phone. That’s via its service dubbed Mobile Market.
China Mobile is the country’s largest mobile handset player, counted by subscribers.
It is Dell’s first foray into the smartphone market and it faces tough competition. It has played around with selling personal information machines before.
China Telecom, the biggest player in the country, said earlier this year that it wanted to offer Blackberry devices. It can only be a matter of time before a deal involving the iPhone comes to light.
