The Nook e-reader is now officially sold out for Christmas, according to the Barnes & Noble web site.
There were warnings of a shortage of the device – which competes against Amazon’s Kindle and Sony’s e-reader, just a few weeks ago.
And Sony is short of its own devices too – testifying that the future of the electronic book reader is probably assured.
Barnes & Noble says on its web site that any orders made today have an expected ship date of January 4 2010.
There’s a heap of pent up demand, obviously. Or an undersupply. And guess what happens now? People that have got brand new Nooks are going to see if they can make a fast buck out of the situation.
