North American users of Research in Motion’s BlackBerry smartphone have found themselves without email for the second time in seven days.
RIM confirmed there was a problem in North America and said its technicians are working hard to fix the problem.
The last outage BlackBerry users suffered was a biggie – most of North America couldn’t get service – RIM claims reliability as one of the bright points in the service it offers.
RIM blames the problem this time on versions of BlackBerry messenger that caused a problem with a RIM database.
While texting and call functions weren’t affected by the Tuesday outage, a flood of people complained on Twitter and other social networking sites about the problem.
